i have a really funny history teacher by the name of Mrs Tan Bee Kee.
Her notes and teaching methods are super interesting,
unlike Mrs Kang's.
who knows, maybe i'll like history eventually, no? :D
here's a sample.
an excerpt from
WORLD IDEOLOGIES WITH REFERENCE TO COWS (italics are my comments btw)
pure communism: you share 2 cows with your neighbours. You & your neighbours bicker about who has the most 'ability' and who has the most 'need'. Meanwhile, no one works, no one gets any milk and the cows drop dead of starvation D:
russian communism: You have 2 cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk. You steal back as much milk as you can and sell it on the black market.
cambodian communism: You have 2 cows. The government takes both & shoots you.
(i love this one.)bureaucracy: You have 2 cows. At first the government regulates what you can feed them and when you can milk them. Then it pays you not to milk them. Then it takes both, shoots one, milks the other & pours the milk down the drain
(huh? isn't killing both easier?). Then it requires you to fill out forms accounting for the missing cows.
AND MY FAVE? SURREALISM.You have 2 giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons :D:D
